Steaks To Go was established in 1990 by Daniel Okonta. The Murfreesboro, Tennessee-based organization fused the Steaks To Go Franchise Company Inc. in 1994 and started diversifying in 1995. Urban Bar-B-Que was founded in 2003 by Dave “Urban” Calkins and Lee “BBQ” Howard. They started with Five Principles of Urban Bar-B-Que that live on today:
