Before opening his first store, Jamie Taerbaum stood outside a Baskin-Robbins store to figure out how many customers an ice cream store could expect at different times of day, on different days of the week, and in different weather conditions. Armed with this research, the young business school graduate opened the original Icebox/Soupbox store in 1995 in Chicago.
In the spring and summer, Icebox operates as a retailer of Icyfruit, a mixture of fruit juice, sugar, water and chunks of fruit that comes in 20 flavors. Throughout the fall and winter, it becomes a Soupbox store, offering a wide variety of soups.
As the operator of a unique, quick service restaurant concept, our stores operate with a simple premise; offer high quality food in an inviting environment at a competitive price, served by friendly, well trained employees. The ice cream and frozen yogurt portion of the business sells premium high butterfat ice cream and non-fat frozen yogurt. All American frozen treats appeal to a broad consumer base and attract customers from all socio-economic groups and ages. All American Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Shops are typically located in anchored shopping centers. We seek individuals and multi-store owners in states west of the Mississippi River. We will consider multi-store area development rights in any part of the United States.
