While working at her husband's doctor's office, registered nurse Seattle Sutton would often consult with patients about how to lose weight. When confronted with the idea of having to shop and cook healthier, many patients simply told Sutton, 'If you prepared the meals for me, I would stay on the diet.'
Inspired by those requests, Seattle Sutton's Healthy Eating was founded in 1985. The company provides customers with 21 fully prepared meals per week (three meals a day) that follow the American Heart Association's guidelines and are low in fat, cholesterol and sodium. Meals are delivered to the customer twice a week, or the customer can pick up their meals at one of the company's distributor sites.
