Nick's concept was just too good to keep to himself. In 1966 he responded to requests and began selling franchises nationally. About Wimpys Diner
Wimpy's Diner is a full menu Diner Style Restaurant chain with a nostalgic 50's and 60's atmosphere, serving Famous Burgers, Home style breakfast, Lunch, Dinner specials and other generously portioned entrees. Due to great public interest, the projected mark for the total number of stores in Southern Ontario was already surpassed by early 1997, thus creating the "WIMPY'S" trademark, which was issued in January of the same year. Wimpy's Diner Inc. is the licensing company for Wimpy's Diner chain.
