"Kids Helping Kids" Seeks Young Volunteers

Merlin Muffler & Brake shops throughout the state of Illinois are seeking young people to volunteer and assist in the collection of new and like-new winter clothing for the 14th annual Snug Hugs for Kids� drive. The youth component, called Kids Helping Kids, encourages young people to get involved and do something tangible to assist their less fortunate peers. Each year, groups including Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, church groups, youth groups, sports teams, and clubs participate by gathering items to be donated, such as coats, hats, mittens, scarves, sweaters, slippers, afghans, and baby items. Additionally, the participating groups have the option of earning a collectible badge. The new and like-new winter clothing will be collected at all Illinois Merlin shops from November 1st through December 6th. On December 7th, the clothing will all be delivered to Children’s Home & Aid program centers, where it will go to clothe more than 40,000 young people, from newborn to late teens, in need. Volunteers and groups can drop off all donated clothing at any Merlin Muffler & Brake shop in Illinois between November 1st and December 6th.
