This is a great time to launch a business franchise. We are now well into the 2004 recovery, and are now taking part in an economic expansion. According to the US Government's Bureau of Economic Analysis �Gross Domestic Product, the most comprehensive measure of U.S. economic activity, increased at a rate of 4.2 percent in the first quarter of 2004 after increasing 4.1 percent in the fourth quarter of 2003.

Consumer spending is up. Exports and imports are up Business investment is up Companies are hiring again: The US economy created nearly 900,000 jobs in the first four months of 2004. This kind of economic environment is a superb time to start a business-oriented franchise.

Consider, too, that according to studies conducted by the US Commerce Depart from 1971-1987�less than 5% of franchisees have been terminated on an annual basis--or 25% over a five-year period. Compare that statistic to the more than 80% failure rate associated with independently owned businesses! Our company, D.E.I.
