Ace Duraflo Systems, Llc Reaches 3,000th Home Milestone

Company restores 3,000 residential homes in the U.S. since 2001

ACE DuraFlo Systems, LLC reaches a company milestone today by restoring the plumbing in 3,000 residential homes in the United States. The company has franchise operations throughout the United States. In 1999 ACE DuraFlo began restoring the potable water pipes in high profile hotels by applying its unique epoxy barrier coating within the existing plumbing system. The restoration process allowed the hotels to avoid expensive demolition costs associated with a traditional plumbing repipe and allowed the hotels to put their rooms back into service much more quickly. The process prevents pinhole leaks, increases water flow and prevents the leaching of heavy metals, such as lead, into the water supply. In 2001 the company expanded its operations to the residential market by offering the service to homeowners. The process results in an epoxy protected piping system called ePIPE(tm). "Pipes don't last forever," ACE DuraFlo President Stuart Tucker says, "and in some parts of the country homes are experiencing pipe failures in as little time as two years, depending on the nature of the water chemistry." Studies have shown that recent changes in water chemistry made to comply with new federal water standards may be accelerating the rate at which pipes are failing. This year, the state of Maryland recommended that homeowners protect their drinking water pipes by coating them with epoxy. The ACE DuraFlo system is a viable and affordable alternative to repiping a property, generally without ripping up carpet or penetrating floors and walls. According to Tucker, ePipe(tm) lasts far longer than new pipes and has been approved by the NSF for use in potable water systems. "Water damage caused by failing pipes can effect insurance rates and even lead to the non-renewal of insurance policies," Tucker says. "Additionally, pinhole leaks in pipes frequently create an environment conducive to the growth of mold." With a large increase of homeowners wanting to protect their homes and drinking water while preventing the likelihood of future pipe failure, the company expects to reach a total of 5,000 restored homes by the end of 2006. About ACE DuraFlo Systems, LLC ACE DuraFlo's unique "in-place" pipe restoration technology restores failing copper and encrusted galvanized piping systems without the extensive demolition that accompanies a traditional plumbing repipe. The process involves air-drying of the pipes, burst sanding and the application of an epoxy barrier coating resulting in a restored epoxy lined plumbing system called ePipe(tm). ACE DuraFlo offers a complete solution for pinhole leaks and corrosion control for both commercial and residential plumbing systems.
