Crown Trophy, the Hawthorne, NY based franchisor of trophy and awards franchise centers announced the opening of its 93rd and 94th locations. Crown Trophy is the only franchise in the awards industry in America and the largest retailer of trophies and awards in the country. Crown began its National Franchise Expansion Program in mid 1999 with some 60 locations and now has grown to 94 centers nationwide. Nick Gimpel, the Vice President and Director of Franchising for Crown Trophy has watched this growth up close and very personally. Gimpel states, "It has been very exciting watching Crown's growth over the past two years. We made a decision two years ago that we will expand nationally, but with an emphasis on "quality of owners, not quantity of owners." We have maintained an integrity of the franchise by recruiting the highest quality owners we can find. We have never had a failure since we began franchising in the late 80s and we intend to continue to maintain this impeccable record. This combination has proven to be critical to the success we have achieved over the recent years." The newest locations are in Mishawaka (South Bend), Indiana and Bloomfield, New Jersey. Both new stores are especially important to Crown. The store in Mishawaka is our first location in Indiana; while the store in Bloomfield is owned by a gentleman who has been with McDonald's for more than 20 years. Gimpel says, "Both sites tend to prove we are interested opening in new and exciting growth areas with a very highly skilled new franchise owner.
