Mrs. Fields Benefits The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society In September For 'Leukemia Awareness Month'

In September 2002, during Leukemia Awareness Month, a new partnership between Mrs. Fields (MF), The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (The Society) and NBC's Days of Our Lives (DOOL) will raise funds to aid leukemia research through "Light The Night" walks in 220 U.S. cities. Registration forms for the walks will be available in any of the 450 Mrs. Fields stores nationwide. Part of the "Winning is Sweet ... So Are the Days of our Lives" amateur chef contest, the winning recipe will become a Mrs. Field's product and 5% of the sales will benefit the Society. To sweeten the deal Mrs. Fields' Mail Order Division will donate an additional 5% of sales of a specific product purchased at www.mrsfields.com during the month of September 2002. Registrants may also wish to join "Team Mrs. Fields" by visiting www.lightthenight.org . The winning dessert-maker for the "Winning is Sweet ... and so are the Days of our Lives" contest will travel to Hollywood for a walk-on-role on NBC's #1 rated daytime drama and win a $1,000. The winning recipe will be the featured new product in each of Mrs. Fields 450 stores beginning October 2002 and ending February 2003. "Our partnership with Days of our Lives affords us the ability to help the Society raise more money to help eradicate this disease," said Frann Wolfe, SVP Marketing, Mrs. Fields Famous Brands.
