In June of 1996, on his way to a business meeting, Mark Avila Matters stopped for a quick meal at a local burger stand. Something immediately caught his attention. He saw a bunch of customers with a burger in one hand and a fruit smoothie that they purchased next door in the other. Mark, a lifelong burger lover realized that they were willing to make two stops and pay extra money for something they thought was healthier.

Immediately, his goal was to create a cheeseburger that would contain 50% less fat than the “other guys”.

In June of 1998, the dream became a reality when TOPZ first opened its doors for business. TOPZ is all about food. TOPZ serves high quality, lower fat items with exceptional flavor.
