Beaner's Coffee Stores Offer Free Tastings Of Their Fair Trade Certified Coffee Products

Friday, March 17, 2006

BEANER'S COFFEE stores will offer a series of free Fair Trade Certified coffee taste-testing next week. Customers can sample a variety of Fair Trade coffees and try to identify their unique flavors, while learning about Fair Trade products through educational materials and informed Michigan State University students involved in the MSU PEARL program. PEARL is a unique program that helps rural communities in Rwanda institute agricultural practices to produce gourmet coffee that is sold internationally. BEANER'S is proud to help this local organization promote Fair Trade Certified coffee, which they carry in all BEANER'S stores. Fair Trade is a system that enables family farmers in developing countries to compete in the global marketplace. Fair Trade Certification provides various guarantees: that farmers are given fair pricing for their products, environmental care was taken and a quality product was produced. "BEANER'S carries Fair Trade Certified coffee products because of their superior reputation in quality coffee and environmental awareness,"says Bob Fish, CEO. "We are excited to take part in such an enjoyable event that will promote Fair Trade coffee and help out the PEARL organization." BEANER'S carries 12 select coffees in a variety of flavors and roasts. BEANER'S offers Fair Trade Certified coffee in Organic French Roast, Black and Tan and Rwanda. All of these and more will be available at the taste testing event. Dates and times are as follows: Monday, March 20 - 8am to10am at BEANER'S 270 West Grand River - 3pm to 4pm at BEANER'S 115 West Allegan St. (Capital Loop) - 5pm to 7pm at Case Hall Cafeteria Tuesday, March 21 - 10am to 11am at BEANER'S 3499 E.
