Charities Win Big In Latest Cashaway Sweepstakes

A diverse trio of charities were among the big winners in the most recent Cashaway� Sweepstakes, which awarded $20,000 to 258 winners and their favorite charities. There were nearly 40,000 entrants.

In addition to winning $5,000, $2,500 and $1,000 respectively, the first, second and third place winners designated their favorite charities to receive additional cash donations provided by Cash Plus.

Grand Prizewinner Natalie Cuneo of Pico Rivera, CA, who took home $5,000, chose the Blind Veterans Association (www.bva.org). Her $1,000 donation will support the BVA's free aid programs. The BVA was established by Congress and for 60 years has been the only veterans service organization exclusively dedicated to serving America's blind and visually impaired veterans.

The $2,500 second place winner, Ron Arold of Port St. Lucie, FL, chose to support the American Red Cross (www.redcross.org) and its valiant relief efforts for disaster victims around the world. The organization received a check for $500 in Ron's name.

Magdalena Lamprecht from Rancho Cucamonga, CA, received $1,000 as the third place winner. Magdalena selected Feed the Children (www.feedthechildren.org). The organization provides food and other types of necessary aid to children, families and persons in need in the United States and internationally. The organization received a check for $250 in Magdalena's name.
