NaturaLawn of America, the lawn care industry's recognized leader in natural, organic-based lawn care service, was recently featured on the NBC Channel 4 evening news. The feature aired as a part of NBC's "Going Green" segment, which occurs every Tuesday evening on channel 4 in order to help educate the public on how easy and important it is to be environmentally conscious. NBC 4's news anchor, Wendy Rieger, interviewed Philip E. Catron, president and founder of NaturaLawn of America, as well as Mr. and Mrs. McGowan, NaturaLawn of America customers of over 14 years. "With public health and environmental concerns growing regarding the unnecessary overuse of chemicals and pesticides, it's no wonder that people are searching for safer alternatives in lawn care," expressed Catron. "Our system relies on organic-based products which promote a healthy lawn that is safer for humans, animals, and the environment while still being effective." NaturaLawn of America's Integrated Pest Management (IPM) system helps correct existing soil deficiencies in order to develop a deep root system. A healthy lawn, in turn, is better able to resist disease, fungus, pests, and drought. The McGowans, of Potomac, Maryland, were worried about pesticide runoff ending up in the Chesapeake Bay, so they hired NaturaLawn of America over 14 years ago. Not only are they still customers, but their lawn has led some of the surrounding neighbors to become clients as well. "We've been given the opportunity to be good stewards of the environment, and we take that seriously," Catron stated. Headquartered in Frederick, Maryland, NaturaLawn of America currently has over 68 independently owned franchise locations serving environmentally concerned customers in 25 states.
