The company's programming enhances a child's development and is meant to work along with conventional learning techniques by challenging children to think productively, encouraging knowledge transfer and application skills and stimulating critical thinking. The key? It is a fun and creative environment that engages all the senses. Materials are presented to capture children's imagination and hold their attention. "Our programming focuses on five key areas," says Nancy Faunce, CEO of FasTracKids International. "We cultivate the development of physical, emotional, social, cognitive and communication skills during what is proven to be an extremely important time of a young child's life. Our innovative programs help prepare our children to succeed and thrive in school and life." FasTracKids Enrichment Centers currently offer: FasTrack SigningSM developed by Signing SmartTM, FasTrack MusicSM based on the award-winning ABC Music & MeTM curriculum, FasTrack TotsSM and FasTracKids.
FasTrack Signing play classes are designed for parents or caregivers and their hearing infants and toddlers, ages six months to two years. The classes use play and song to teach little ones how to use their hands to communicate well before their verbal skills have developed. Participants attend a one-hour parent/tot class for 10 weeks. Baby signing introduces infants and toddlers to basic problem-solving skills and provides them with the tools or signs to communicate. Parents of signing children typically notice that the use of signs reduces temper tantrums and increases their child's self esteem.
Targeting toddlers, ages two to four years old, FasTrack Music is much more than a music class. Centered around storytelling, imaginative play and taking turns, FasTrack Music is a fun and engaging way to introduce young children to the creative world of music. During a 12-month period, FasTrack Music participants attend a weekly one-hour class designed to develop the skills needed for early educational success. The program includes 12 different CD-based modules. The theme is changed monthly to focus on different areas of a child's development. Each program integrates songs and rhymes to help develop phonetic awareness and early reading skills; tapping, clacking and ringing rhythm instruments with music to improve hand-eye coordination; focused listening to improve direction-following skills; instrument play to strengthen fine motor skills; singing of developmentally appropriate songs to develop vocal chords and expressive speech. FasTrack Tots is based on the worldwide enrichment program FasTracKids and is targeted for younger students, ages two and a half to three and a half years. These one-hour weekly classes are highly interactive, incorporating songs, movement, experiments and hands-on activities in order to develop concentration, communication, self-esteem and social skills. In a fun, safe and supportive environment, children learn independence and get prepared for a successful transition into school.
FasTracKids stimulates a child's brain during an important time of his or her life. Through creative teaching methods, this program covers 12 subject areas to inspire the knowledge base of three- to eight-year-old children. During one two-hour class per week for 24 months, children are taught to focus, speak with confidence and use their creative brain. They learn reasoning skills, the ability to transfer knowledge, and ways to work and communicate with others. The programs are modular and range from traditional (astronomy, biology, literature, earth sciences, economics and mathematics) to subjects previously nontraditional to this age group (communication, creativity, goals and life lessons, speech, drama and art, and technology). Using CD-based lessons, the curriculum is taught by using an educational "zigzagging" format where teachers strategically change subject matter every two to two-and-a-half minutes. Directly corresponding to the attention span of a young child, this technique requires skillful program design and has been proven to retain the attention of children for a longer period of time.
