Tulsa-based Camille's sets Arkansas debut
Camille's Sidewalk Cafe will open Nov. 22 in Northwest Arkansas, the first of five planned for the state. Fayetteville Athletic Club owners Bob and Katherine Shoulders purchased the Northwest Arkansas franchise rights to the Tulsa-based restaurant. The first Arkansas location for Camille's will open inside the Fayetteville Athletic Club. But diners don't have to be members of the club to eat at the restaurant. The small deli-style restaurant operating in the club now will be renovated to become Camille's smoothie bar, said Gaye Smith, district manager of Camille's Arkansas locations. A building between the tennis courts will become the restaurant. The tennis courts will be enclosed in a vinyl bubble, similar to the swimming pool's cover, to allow customers to watch tennis games and for players to stay warm in the winter. The second location will open in January on the bottom floor in the Bentonville Plaza, across from Wal-Mart Stores Inc.'s corporate headquarters, Smith said. The Shoulders plan to open five restaurants across Northwest Arkansas over the next few years, Smith said. Camille's serves health conscious sandwiches, wraps, paninis, salads and breakfast items, featuring jasmine rice, grilled chicken breast and spinach and honey-wheat tortillas.
