For most people, the first day on a new job is challenging enough. For Chris Hilker, new Vice President, Human Resources and Organizational Development for Jenny Craig, it included being introduced by CEO Patti Larchet to over 300 employees and franchisees at the opening session of Jenny Craig's annual conference in Anaheim, CA, on Dec. 11. As a human resources professional with more than 25 years experience in employee relations, staff development, benefits management and organizational effectiveness, Hilker most recently served as Director of Unisys Corporations' Americas Learning & Development Centre. As executive coach to Unisys' Executive Development Forum, she facilitated her team through the business case process and solution development, and prepared them for Board of Directors presentations. From 1999 to 2001, Hilker served as Vice President, Human Resources for Slim-Fast Foods Co., where she developed the first human resources function for more than 500 employees at this $800 million organization. Prior to that, Hilker held the same title at W.R. Grace & Co. where she established the company's initial global human resources function in Malaysia for two manufacturing entities. In her new position as Vice President, Human Resources & Organizational Development for Jenny Craig, Hilker is responsible for staffing, benefits, employee relations and administration for more than 3,800 field and Home Office personnel in the U.S. and Canada, as well as the Company's distribution center in Rancho Cucamonga, California. With the recent acquisition of the company by Nestl Nutrition, this represents an especially exciting and dynamic time for her functional area.
