In joining the Veterans Transition Franchise Initiative (VetFran), coordinated by the International Franchise Association (IFA), 1-800-WATER DAMAGE become part of a group of more than180 franchise companies who have agreed to offer financial incentives to bring veterans into their systems. VetFran offers incentives that range from reduced franchise fees to waived training costs, left to the choice of the participating franchisor. For example, 1-800-WATER DAMAGE is offering veterans 10 percent off its initial franchise fee for the first unit.
"At 1-800-WATER DAMAGE, we are committed to the patriotic spirit of giving back to military veterans for serving our country," said Lisa Bongi, president of 1-800 WATER DAMAGE. "We're honored to participate in a program like VetFran that helps veterans transition from military life to small-business owners. It's a way to help set them up for success." Launched during the Gulf War, the VetFran program is endorsed by the U.S. Department of Veterans' Affairs, the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Veterans Corporation
