Economical courier service turns one
 the Fastway!
Fastway Couriers Edmonton, launched their business on January 3, 2006 and proudly celebrated their first anniversary with all franchisees and staff. Regional Franchisee, Oleg Aristarkhov is excited about starting year two and will soon be granting his few remaining franchise territories. This means that they will be growing at an even greater rate and splitting their exiting territories to add more couriers as the next phase of their expansion. Fastway Couriers was founded by Bill McGowan in New Zealand in 1983 and is now franchised in 11 countries, making it the world's largest courier franchise system. The Fastway approach to doing business mirrors that of the low cost airlines. A no frills service, flat rate pricing at competitive rates, and easy to use bar-coded prepaid labels for sending goods. Fastway is a different courier company and the franchisees are the reason. Each person is an independent businessperson who owns exclusive rights to their chosen territory. They focus on a niche untapped by other companies which explains their rapid growth. Courier Franchisees are outgoing, friendly people who want to profit from their own efforts and build a saleable business. A background in sales is not necessary since they receive support and mentoring from Oleg and his staff, allowing them to follow the Fastway system to achieve their goals and succeed. Fastway Couriers Edmonton is currently offering same day and next morning services within the Edmonton area and will soon be adding next day delivery service to the Fastway franchise in Calgary. Fastway's twenty-three year old system has been followed in Australia where they are now the largest domestic courier service in that country. The plans are the same for Fastway Couriers in Canada and are well underway with Regional Franchises operating in the Calgary, London, Kitchener, Niagara, Hamilton, Barrie, Oshawa, Toronto and Atlantic regions. Future plans for Canadian expansion in the West include opening regional franchises in Vancouver, Victoria and the Okanagan, and then connecting services among the British Columbia and Alberta depots. Fastway's next expansion in the East is focused on opening depots in Windsor, Kingston, Ottawa and Montreal, and connecting them with the existing operations in Ontario and the Atlantic Provinces. Courier Franchisee information seminars are held in the Edmonton depot weekly and more information can be found at www.fastway.ca or by calling 780-481-7444.
