The 2nd U C MAS UK Mental Arithmetic Competition-2006 was successfully conducted on 16th September 2006 at The Swaminarayan School, Neasden, London. The Competition was declared open by the Honoured Guest the Worshipful Mayor of London Borough of Brent, Councillor Bertha Joseph at 10.25 am. On that occasion the Mayor released the Souvenir-2006. The Mayor of London Borough of Brent was overwhelmed by the concept and Children's enthusiasm with the Programme and informed the audience that she will try to enrol her grand children to one of the UC MAS UK centres. The Mayor was initially to precede in the middle of the event due to her other public engagement. But she was kind enough to stay back till the end of the event thanking UC MAS UK for arranging such a wonderful event in her constituency. She presented few trophies to the Students. Live demonstration of U C MAS Concept was presented by two kids from Chennai, who were trained and lead by Ms.Geetha Saravanan, followed after the competition. The Honoured Guest, Rt. Hon Keith Vaz, Member of Parliament, Leicester East, UK was impressed by the Concept and Live Demo has invited UC MAS UK to British Parliament on 18th September 2006 to present UC MAS concept to the members of Parliament. He is considering making arrangement for organizing live demo of UC MAS concept in his constituency in LEICESTER later. Other Honoured Guest attend the function are as follows. Mr.Prabhakar, Chief Executive, Bank of Baroda UK Operation. Dr.Naik, Distinguished Cardiologist, United States of America. Guruji Shri Ashwin Kumar Pathak, from Gujarat, India Mr.Charles Patel, Managing Director, Capital News, London Almost two hundred students participated in the Competition and 62 prize trophies awarded to the students in different categories. Student's participation and performance were very good in the UC MAS UK- Competition 2006 and almost 500 people attended the function. For the convenience of the audience Closed Circuit TV Screen was arranged outside the Hall thereby parents could see the competition in live telecast. All the major TV media and Print Media were present and Press release was issued The Competition, Live demonstration and prize distribution function of 2nd U C MAS UK Mental Arithmetic Competition-2006 progressed on well as planned and delighted the participants, invited guests as well as the organizers.
