Sigmund Pierre, a former police officer, and his wife, Edith, a nurse, recently acquired a 24Seven franchise in the Miami, Fla. area. The native Haitian follows Guyanese immigrant Kemp Johnson who also purchased a 24Seven franchise in the Miami area in December of last year. Like Johnson, Pierre was attracted to the cash flow and schedule flexibility the program offers. 24Seven offers franchisees territories with pre-sited snack and soda machines with known sales histories. 24Seven also provides a patented wireless technology and software system that enables them to monitor sales, restocking requirements, profitability and machine operation diagnostics via a laptop. According to the company, a typical franchise includes 60 to 90 machines at 12 to 20 locations with an historical revenue stream of approximately $6,730 per week in gross revenues. A goal of the company is to improve minority representation within an industry plagued by high barriers to entry. 24Seven franchises are now available in 19 states, including New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Florida, California, Georgia, Texas and Washington, D.C. The company has sold more than 100 franchises in less than two years and expects to double it in the next year. The company also claims there is an 18-person waiting list in the Los Angeles, Calif. market. For information, contact Felicia Persaud at 718-476-3616
