Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group Acquires Franchise Operations From Three Franchisees

Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc. today announced the acquisition of the Thrifty Car Rental franchise operations in Louisville, Ky., Knoxville, Tenn., and McAllen, Texas.

(Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20020412/DTGLOGO ) Franchise operations in Louisville were sold by D.J. Leasing, LLC, owned by Steven J. Sternberg. The transaction, effective June 1, 2007, includes three locations: an in-terminal location serving Louisville International Airport and two local market stores including, 3700 Crittenden Drive and 10700 Plantside Drive. Sternberg, who has been a licensee since 1967, will retain his Thrifty Truck Rental operations which will share space at the acquired local market stores.

The Knoxville, Tenn., Thrifty franchise operations were acquired from Rental Car of Knoxville, Inc., owned by William W. and Carol W. Rolen, who have been franchisees since 1993. The locations include the in-terminal facility at McGhee Tyson Airport and one inside the Marriott Hotel at 500 East Hill Road. The transaction was also effective June 1, 2007.

The Thrifty franchise operation in McAllen, Texas was acquired from Rio Grande Valley Car Rental, Inc., owned by Robert C. Vackar. The transaction, which closed April 1, 2007, includes the off-airport location serving McAllen International Airport.

The terms of each agreement were not disclosed.
