Scholarship Grants Are Now Available For The 2007-2008 Academic Year

The Banfield Charitable Trust is offering the Campbell Family Scholarship for the second consecutive year and the application deadline is June 30, 2007. Established in 2005, The Campbell Family Scholarship awards funding for one academic year of undergraduate tuition to students who want to further their education in areas of study that will allow them to improve the lives of Pets and families. The scholarship is available for classes starting this fall. Completed applications will be accepted until June 30, 2007 and awards will be announced by July 31, 2007. "The Campbell Family Scholarship provides tuition assistance to students who demonstrate a commitment to upholding the values we hold dear, improving the lives of Pets and their families," said Sandy Campbell, Banfield Charitable Trust President & Board Chair. "The Banfield Charitable Trust is proud to offer this financial opportunity to students for their continued learning." Determinations with respect to academic ability, character, motivation, and the applicant's desire to improve the lives of Pets and their families will be based upon information included in the required application materials. Required application materials include high school or college transcripts, two letters of recommendation and a 250 word essay. Please note that all application materials must be submitted together and cannot arrive separately. Particular consideration will be given to the applicant's submitted essay. Demonstration of financial need is not required, but is a factor that may be taken into consideration by the Scholarship Committee during the selection process.

The applicant must be graduated from or about to graduate from high school or its equivalent, or be a student at an accredited college, junior college, university or other educational institution. Recipients of scholarships will be selected from qualified applicants on an objective and nondiscriminatory basis, based upon qualification standards, regardless of the race, color, age, religion, sex, or disability of the applicant. Recipients of the Campbell Family Scholarship can resubmit an application each year, for up to four years, and must reapply for the scholarship each academic year.
