Earl of Sandwich derives its name from John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich, who in 1762 came up with an invention that changed dining forever. With beef placed between two slices of bread, the Earl created The Sandwich. Some 240 years later, Earl of Sandwich has taken that idea and crafted it into a made-to-order, freshly baked sandwich. By roasting its beef on the premises and adding its freshly baked signature artisan bread, Earl of Sandwich has a distinctly unique method resulting in an amazingly fresh, tasty sandwich.
"We created a business concept to provide great tasting, quality quick-serve food in a positive dining experience," says Michael Grodi, President and CEO of Earl of Sandwich USA. "In just four years, our success has validated our plan to aggressively accelerate domestic growth. Our goal is to add over 100 restaurants per year, through both company and franchise expansion." Earl of Sandwich is seeking franchisees with significant hospitality experience operating multiple (3+) restaurant locations and the ability and infrastructure to implement an aggressive growth strategy. Although additional markets may be available, Earl of Sandwich announced the following target markets for potential franchisees: Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington D.C. (including Maryland and Virginia), Philadelphia, Atlanta, San Francisco (including Oakland and San Jose), Dallas/Ft. Worth, Seattle/Tacoma, Denver, Phoenix, Columbus, Las Vegas, Nashville, San Diego, Cleveland, St. Louis and Sacramento (Stockton, Modesto).
To facilitate this aggressive growth strategy, the company hired Marc Sandlin as Chief Operating Officer. With years of quick-serve experience, Sandlin will focus on recruiting new franchisees and will continue to support existing franchisees with their growth plans.
