Jason Taylor Foundation And Juiceblendz Team Up For Back-to-school Program

Saturday, July 28, 2007

JUICEBLENDZ, South Florida's hottest smoothie and juice bar franchise, is teaming up with Jason Taylor to support the Miami Dolphins All-Pro Defensive End's "Cool Gear for the School Year" program. Throughout the month of August, fans can contribute to the Jason Taylor Foundation's back-to-school shopping initiative simply by purchasing a smoothie.

"Jason Taylor is a proven winner on the field and in our community and has also been a tremendous addition to the JUICEBLENDZ family," said Adam Ogden, Founder and CEO of JUICEBLENDZ International. "We share in Jason's vision to assist our areas youth and are thrilled to participate in the Cool Gear for the School Year program." "I am excited that JUICEBLENDZ will participate in Cool Gear this year and believe our customers will truly appreciate the impact their purchases will have on these kids," added Taylor, who also serves as the President of Franchise Development for the smoothie chain. "It is critical for me to align myself with companies that are not only interested in succeeding financially but also understand the importance of giving back to the community where we do business." From August 1st through September 10th 2007, a portion of proceeds from sales at all JUICEBLENDZ locations will be donated to the Jason Taylor Foundation. As part of the program, patrons will also have the opportunity to join the company's "Blenderz Club" and receive photographs, footballs or helmets autographed by the 2006 NFL Defensive MVP. In addition, all smoothies purchased during this time will be served in a limited edition Jason Taylor collectors" cup.

"Cool Gear for the School Year" provides disadvantaged children the opportunity to participate in a "Back to School" shopping experience at an Old Navy clothing store. The program's purpose is to help build the child's self-esteem and eliminate an unnecessary distraction, allowing the child to focus on studies and not attire while at school. Each child is allotted $300 and, with the assistance of a Dolphins player, Cheerleader or local celebrity, has one hour to conduct their "Back to School" shopping.

In July 2004, Jason Taylor and his wife, Katina, established the Jason Taylor Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) organization. The Foundation's mission is to support and create programs that facilitate the personal growth and empowerment of South Florida's children in need by focusing on improved health care, education and quality of life.
