Brooke Franchise Corporation's National Convention A Success

Brooke Franchise Corporation, a subsidiary of Brooke Corporation (NASDAQ: BXXX), recently concluded its third annual national franchise convention, held Oct. 21-23 at the South Point Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas. Nearly 900 Brooke franchisees, employees, directors and stockholders from across the country were on hand to participate in the three-day event.

Convention activities kicked off on Oct. 21 with a welcome reception and awards ceremony. Kyle Garst, Brooke Franchise chief executive officer, led the awards ceremony, which honored the company's top franchise agencies from each region, and introduced the inaugural class of Brooke Elite agencies.

Representatives from NCMIC, Bristol West and MetLife also gave presentations.

The convention's second day featured a keynote address by Super Bowl champion coach Dick Vermeil, who outlined his "Seven Common Sense Principles to Leadership." Garst addressed the delegation and provided information on the "New Era" of Brooke that has emerged with being a large scale franchisor approaching 1,000 locations and generating $1 billion in annualized premiums.

His address outlined Brooke's financial commitment to building a national brand and reduction in monthly net royalties. Additional presenters included representatives from Travelers, Victoria, Safeco, Progressive and Dairyland and Viking. An exhibitor's showcase was also held that evening, which featured nearly 50 insurance company and other vendor exhibits.

In addition to the keynote speakers and exhibitors, educational breakout sessions were held. Presenters and topics included Brandie Hinen, "Building Phenomenal Results in a Challenging Market," Captiva Consulting, "Marketing Boot Camp," and George Cunningham, "How to Design a Financial Roadmap to Make 2008 Your Most Profitable Year Ever." Brooke franchisees also had the opportunity to attend a franchise roundtable session, which provided them a venue to give feedback and suggestions to Brooke's Franchise Council members.

Convention events concluded the morning of Oct. 23.
