Vino 100 Opens

Tracy's second wine shop, Vino 100, opens this week with a grand opening from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at 2467 Naglee Road.

The franchise is one of more than 50 locations throughout the nation. The stores features wine from small boutique wineries from around the world. Vino 100 sells 100 wines for less than $25 each, plus about 35 premium wines and wine accessories.

The store owners also plan to sell wine from local wineries. They will host frequent tasting events at the store's tasting room.

Owners Janet and Chris Ackerson said Vino 100 is created for people to shop in a nonintimidating atmosphere. A scale is posted on each bottle that illustrates the body of the wine.

"We want to educate people on how to buy wine," Ackerson said.

Vino 100 is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
