Roosters Men's Grooming Center, at 260 Columbine in Cherry Creek North, is a one-of-a-kind concept, where men can let their hair down, so to speak. Roosters tips its hat to the old-fashioned barber shop in its concept, but Roosters is far from old fashioned. Man-sized leather chairs, warm cherry wood tones throughout, sports and new themed magazines, television shows and conversation, and a menu of services that includes hot towel steam and shaves, hair cuts, body massage, shoe shine, and even basic waxing and color treatments, convey the clear message that this is a place for the guy who gives a cock-a-doodle-doo about his appearance.
Colorado Roosters franchise owner, Jan Unger, explains, "Men want a place just for them. Roosters is a full service grooming center that caters to how men want to feel when they are taking care of themselves." Unger understands that customers want a consistent experience, and want to feel confident in their appearance when they leave. "They like being in an environment that doesn"t require them to sit next to a nail station and listen to women cluck about their kids and girlfriends. They prefer a place that feels masculine, where they can relax, talk about sports and that offers a bit of class, sans the uppity attitude. That's Roosters." To her point, the shop is specially equipped with two private rooms, acknowledging that some men, while conscientious about being well groomed, may feel a bit conspicuous receiving certain treatments out in the open. Services like pedicures, hair coloring, back waxing and massage are all easily facilitated in the modesty of a private room, equipped with a television and the sports channel of course. According to Unger, more men than ever are requesting such specialty services, in addition to the haircuts and the steam towel shaves for which Roosters is renowned among regular customers. Unger explains, "Once a customer is with us for a while and gets comfortable with our quality and laid back atmosphere, he"ll often open up to the possibility of the other grooming services. Our customers get to trust us ""cause they like the results." Roosters is a national franchise concept, and has had a location in Cherry Creek North for five years. Head barber and Roosters manager, Adam Unger, shares, "I have clients that have been coming here for years. It seems once a man comes in and tries us, they keep coming back. They feel at home here. A lot of fathers have even started bringing in their sons too. It's nice to get to know your customers like that."
