The restaurant was opened by franchisee Luther Mack and opening festivities also will feature an appearance by actor and comedian Bill Cosby.
For 35 years, Mack owned and operated 11 McDonald's restaurants in the Reno/Sparks area, earning accolades for both his commitment to the company and the quality of his restaurants. He officially retired from the burger behemoth and sold all of his restaurants in January of 2009.
The interior of this first Fuddruckers under Mack's leadership pays homage to his hometown with photographs, a 30-foot mural, and a University of Nevada-themed booth that is the centerpiece of the restaurant.
The restaurant is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week and is located at 1310 Scheels Drive.
