Leading Bike Rental Franchise Teams up with Triumph Motorcycles to Leave Competition in the Dust

EagleRider, the world's largest motorcycle rental and tour company, and Triumph Motorcycles, the fastest growing motorcycle manufacturer on the globe, have announced a partnership that will expand revenue streams for dealers and give customers more opportunities through rentals. The two juggernaut motorcycle companies laid out the details of the partnership in Orlando, FL on February 20, 2010 at Triumph's annual dealership conference.

Acknowledging the desire for their dealers to get into the rental business with a turnkey solution, Triumph Motorcycles created a unique incentive for Triumph Dealers to become EagleRider franchisees with discounted bikes and financing through EagleRider Finance. The first Triumph Dealer to become an EagleRider franchisee is PJ LaMariana owner of PJ's Triumph in Albuquerque, NM. The franchise will launch on July 1, 2010.

"I wanted the ability to rent motorcycles to tourists from all over the world," said LaMariana. "EagleRider has a fabulous reputation and brand recognition. Creating another opportunity for my customers to enjoy Triumph's superior products will generate more sales and give our customers more options, such as rental tours down historic Route 66." Philip Jacobs, Director of Franchise Development for EagleRider, is confident the rental model will lead Triumph Dealers to what the company refers to as the "Core 4;" More Sales More Service More Door Swings New Profit Center "We want to add more revenue streams for our more than 200 North American Triumph Dealers," echoed Satu Mehta, VP of Triumph Motorcycles North America. "The partnership with EagleRider gives our dealers a rental department that is already a proven high margin stand-alone new profit center." In 1992, EagleRider pioneered the Harley-Davidson motorcycle rental concept and the guided motorcycle tour business. Today, the franchise offers a complete line of off-road vehicles, making virtually any traveler's idyllic itinerary possible, including ATV's, snowmobiles, dirt bikes, trailers, watercraft and scooters.

Franchisees will enjoy immediate local store marketing and website branding, reservation systems, and full-time Self Guided and Guided Tour support departments. Marketing of the EagleRider services lets local customers and tourists know about the Triumph dealership and the variety of bikes for rental and sale. Ultimately, rentals lead to more customers walking through the door.

"Triumph has been in the motorcycle business for more than 100 years and EagleRider has been franchising for nearly 20 years," said Jacobs. "This partnership combines expertise unparalleled in the industry and provides our dealers and franchisees a head start over the competition."
