Cottagecare Baton Rouge Franchise Takes Top Honors

Friday, August 06, 2010

When Baton Rouge's Brooks Franklin, CottageCare Owner/Operator, received his award at this year's CottageCare National Convention, little did he know that he would be accepting more than just a few awards. Franchisee/Service Center of the Year, Double Digit Growth, Top Customer Survey Scores and One Million Dollar Club were among the top honors that he accepted.

The awards represent Franklin's exemplary contribution in the areas of high quality annual operations, adherence to SOP (standard operating procedures) and real growth during the calendar year. Franklin also managed to create 16.5% growth figures in 2009, despite an enormously difficult time for businesses to survive. He accomplished this double-digit growth without an acquisition and was strategically done by focusing on quality and retention and with astonishing marketing efforts.

Each year CottageCare surveys customers of each franchise and the operation must attain at least a 9.0 return rating to receive an award in this category. The customer is able to rate the franchise based on numerous factors, including overall customer satisfaction and quality. So, it is no wonder that the Baton Rouge franchise received a favorable overall score of 9.36 for their outstanding performance, taking the #2 spot in the Top Customer Survey Scores category. CottageCare's founder, Tom Schrader said, "Extraordinary customer scores create growth when combined with marketing, staffing, and all the other things you must do to sustain excellence in your operation. Brooks' Baton Rouge operation had a fabulous year on all counts." Each year CottageCare also recognizes those franchises who have achieved their first or next million dollars in cumulative sales. Franklin once again took the stage to accept this award. Brooks Franklin came to his CottageCare franchise from the field of money management. His initial statement to corporate upon being licensed as a CottageCare franchise was that he would be a "plodder" - slow but sure in his progress to a successful operation. "Quality will be first priority - growth will take a back seat." Schrader relates that "there was nothing "plodding" about him." He attained success quickly though quality; growth followed naturally."
