The SEMA certification establishes benchmarks for employee knowledge and competence. In addition to meeting work experience requirements, each certified installer demonstrates expertise in all aspects of custom wheel and tire installation and maintenance, including tire-pressure monitoring systems and service equipment maintenance and repair.
Since the certification became available in 2004, more than 550 individuals have passed the exam. RimTyme Franchise Consultant Travis John says the certification is difficult to attain, but worth the time and effort.
"This designation is important not only for professional development, but it also shows a commitment to service and expertise in the industry," he said. "In today's competitive market, having the most qualified professionals is essential." Bob Bloom, CEO and president of RimTyme says the designation is valuable to the installers and the company as a whole.
"SEMA certification serves as an impartial endorsement of an installer's skills on a national level," said Bloom. "It's a great accomplishment for our employees and our brand. Working with certified technicians gives customers a higher level of confidence in our products and services."
