Throughout the month of October, customers can visit any of over 50 Color Me Mine studio locations to sign a donation card that will hang in the studio showing their support of breast cancer awareness. On October 14, all of the participating Color Me Mine studios throughout the U.S. will host a Save the ta-tas themed ladies night from which a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Save the Ta-tas Foundation. Events will vary from one studio to another but may include goodies or door prizes, ribbon themed bisque to choose from in addition to the hundreds of items always available to paint, free paint techniques, appearance and product of local vendors such as bakeries, accessory, shoe and clothing boutiques, etc.
"One of the unique attributes of Color Me Mine is our business owner profile. Though we are the largest in our industry with studios around the world, each studio is individually owned and operated within its local area, by a resident of its community. That makes each of our owners exceptionally dedicated to its own neighbors and causes. Breast Cancer is a cause that reaches into every community, and touches many people at a personal level. This brings the cause close to the hearts of our franchise owners and gives them a sincere desire to help, and they use their Color Me Mine studio to do so. How fortunate we are, to have such a fun business which allows us to be an instrument of support within our communities," says Tara Barnett-Thomman, Director of Marketing for Color Me Mine Enterprises, Inc.
The ta-tas Brand (est. 2004) and Save the Ta-tas Foundation (est. 2008) were created by clothing designer Julia Fikse as a way to fight breast cancer using laughter and fun. Her playful line of t-shirts and accessories include messages such as "Save the ta-tas" "Friends Don't Let Friends Lose ta-tas," as well as their top selling, Boob Lube, a soap that promotes self breast exams. Ta-tas Brand is proud to donate a portion of all sales to their Foundation for breast cancer research. To date, ta-tas Brand has donated more than $450,000 to fight breast cancer. Julia's message of hope and humor has reached thousands of victims and survivors of breast cancer and has helped them to fight the disease with both wit and courage. Members of Fikse's own family have battled with breast cancer and they were the inspiration for Julia to launch Save the ta-tas 2004.
