Goodfella's Opens Brick Oven Pizza School

Goodfella's of Staten Island has officially opened its wood fired pizza school of New York.

The establishment will be one of the most comprehensive pizza schools in the country, focusing on the art of wood fired pizza, as well as gourmet breads, sauces and cheese-making.

The school was founded by Scot Cosentino.

"It will be a completely hands-on experience, turning pizza makers from all over the world into gourmet artisans who will master the art of wood-fired pizza," Cosentino said.

In addition to offering curriculum on various pizza-centered topics, Goodfella's new school also will offer a variety of services and complete consulting on startup operations.

Goodfella's, founded in 1992, has used a gourmet brick oven pizza since its inception. The restaurant has won numerous national and international prizes for its gourmet selections, including the Vodka Pie, Smokin' Goodfella and Sally Pie.
