Women's Fitness Franchise Announces Successful First Quarter For 2011

Despite a slow economic turnaround, Lady of America Franchise Corporation, a leader in women's fitness, started 2011 with a robust first quarter. The growth was due in part to increased membership worldwide and the expansion and opening of new fitness clubs in the United States and abroad.

While most consumers are still budget-conscious where their spending habits are concerned, they did make fitness a priority for the start of the New Year. Lady of America added two new clubs in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico and Woodbridge, NJ increasing the amount of women in the gym. The new clubs bring Lady of America's total to 200, including women's fitness centers located in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Ireland, the United Kingdom, South Africa and Israel.

The corporation also saw six resales of its franchises this quarter. The resales occurred in West Palm Beach, FL; Weston, FL; San Antonio, TX; White River Junction, VT; Grand Island, NE; and Yakima, WA. "For women, fitness is definitely not a fad. Even in hard times people are making a commitment to staying fit. It is something everyone needs," said Gerry Weber, CEO of Lady of America Franchise Corporation.

The Fort Lauderdale-based company also announced a conversion of seven Lady of America fitness centers to LOA Fitness for Women. These conversions were in Florida and Texas. LOA Fitness for Women combines the best of the company's proven brands along with the latest product and service offerings, while maintaining the Lady of America signature culture.
