Frozen Yogurt On Trucks

Thursday, May 24, 2012

TCBY, one of the most mature operations in the frozen yogurt sub-category of frozen dessert chains, posted total system sales decreases of more than 18 percent last year, mostly due to store closings. The new trucks will feature four standard varieties and additional rotating flavors. The rotation will bring guests flavors that are low in fat, fat-free, or no-sugar-added. TCBY will also offer a fat-free, non-dairy sorbet.

Tim Casey, CEO of TCBY, said "Our new frozen yogurt truck, which is designed to emulate our innovative brand look and feel, broadens our customer reach and strengthens our social media positioning." TCBY worked in conjunction with Samuel Batt, an area developer and franchisee. Batt also launched TCBY's first self-serve concept and has big plans for the Carolinas with 23 planned stores, either through direct ownership or licensing.
