Hays spent the past 12 years in the automotive industry at a job that required him to travel for long periods of time away from his family. Now having a two-year-old at home, Hays asked himself, "Is another job the way to go? My hours may not change so should I keep doing the same thing or change our future?" He opted to pursue the franchise market for opportunities to become his own boss. "I had been building a lot of managerial skills throughout my career and felt it was time to put those to use as an owner/operator of my own business," Hays said.
Hays worked with a franchise coach at a placement agency called The Entrepreneur's Source.
