Molly Maid, the nation's largest residential cleaning company, is giving people the chance to make a difference in the lives of children affected by domestic violence during National Domestic Violence Awareness month.
Starting Oct. 1, for every $25 donated through this program to the Ms. Molly Foundation, the company's charitable arm, Molly Maid will send a teddy bear to a child victim of domestic violence, helping to make life a little more bearable.
The teddy bear fundraiser is part of Molly Maid's annual Making a Difference Drive, in which the franchise helps raise money and awareness about the growing number of children affected by this national issue. Starting now, people can make a donation and change a life by visiting https://www.mollymaid.com/teddy-bear-donation.aspx. Each tax-deductible donation of $25 will give a child in a shelter a Chelsea Teddy Bear and tote bag. The remaining proceeds will be donated to the shelter as a financial contribution.
"Children represent nearly half the residents in domestic violence shelters, and often, they arrive with only their pajamas and no personal items to help comfort them in their new surroundings," said Meg Roberts, President of Molly Maid. "Through this year's Making a Difference Drive, we hope to receive enough donations to put smiles on the faces of kids all across the nation. We are excited to rally behind a cause that is near and dear to our hearts."
In addition to the national promotion, many Molly Maid franchise owners system-wide are supporting the cause by donating ten cents per clean to the organization throughout the entire month of October, as well as hosting various events to raise awareness and money for local domestic violence shelters across America.
Through the Making a Difference Drive, Molly Maid hopes to continue exceeding previous years when it comes to raising monetary and supply donations. For more information on how to contribute, visit www.mollymaid.com.
