Bakery cafes are part of 18-store agreement with Rouse Properties
There's no mistaking that mouthwatering smell. It immediately draws you back to your childhood and those indelible images of mom baking up a fresh batch of chocolate chip cookies in the oven.
Fortunately, those times aren't gone forever thanks to Nestle Toll House Cafe by Chip, a chain of bakery cafes bearing a name synonymous with America's favorite confection.
The cafes are cropping up across the nation, with the two newest locations opening in Shreveport, La. and Lakeland, Fla. The stores are the fourth and fifth of 18 new cafes set to open this year under a long-term master lease agreement signed in October 2013 with Rouse Properties, Inc. (NYSE: RSE), a national owner and operator of regional enclosed malls.
Last month, Nestle Toll Housee Cafe made its debut at Shreveport's Mall of St. Vincent and at Lakeland Square Mall near Tampa. Both serve up freshly baked cookies, premium Nescafe Milano coffee, ice cream and a wide array of delectable treats.

Bar seating is available around the sides of the kiosk in addition to tables and soft seating in the adjacent area.
"We've wanted to introduce our bakery cafe to Louisiana for a long time, and we found the perfect franchise partners to lead the way," said Shawnon Bellah, Senior Vice President of Global Operations for Nestle Toll House Cafe. "I know it's going to be a very popular addition to the mall's center court. That same feeling of warmth and relaxation is also what we're offering shoppers at Lakeland Square Mall and throughout and Sunshine State."
The premium dessert destination concept is built around the world's most powerful food brand - Nestle. Along with its universally loved Nestle Toll House cookies and cookie cakes, the new cafes serve brownies, muffins, smoothies, ice creams and Nescafe specialty coffees. The cafes are also a great lunch option, thanks to their made-to-order Crepes and Panini sandwiches.
The Lakeland and Shreveport locations are the 123rd and 124th Nestle Toll House Cafes systemwide, respectively.
