The North Palm Beach company had sales of $45 million in 2013, a 178 percent gain from the previous year.
Technomic, a Chicago-based restaurant consulting and research firm, released its study on the 500 largest U.S. restaurant chains. According to the study, 3.5 percent annual sales among the restaurants increased in 2013.
RELATED: Several BurgerFi locations planned for Jacksonville "Although we have seen overall growth within the Top 500, the pace has slowed since last year," said Ron Paul, president of Technomic, in a news release. "Competition for share of stomach is getting more and more challenging. But brands that have found a way to differentiate themselves are gaining market share." The highest growth of limited-service restaurants came from the Asian, bakery cafe and coffee cafe categories, including Panda Express, Panera Bread and Starbucks.
Full-service restaurants experienced a 2.4 percent sales increased in 2013, a slight decrease over the 2.9 percent seen in 2012, according to Technomic. The full-service steak category continued to show healthy growth, with an increase in sales of 6.2 percent. Here's the five fastest-growing chains with sales under $200 million: 1.
