Re/max Launches Southern Indiana Franchise

RE/MAX of Indiana has opened an office in New Albany.

Broker-owners Michelle Warford and Stephanie Prather signed on as the franchisee in February after leaving Keller Williams Realty.

Warford and Prather left Keller Williams to work with RE/MAX to become broker-owners of a franchise. The new office, RE/MAX Integrity, is at 1829 E. Spring St. Suite 101, and will specialize in residential, luxury and commercial real estate, according to a news release.

Financial terms of the five-year franchise agreement were not disclosed.

Initially, the new office will consist of Prather, Warford and a director of operations. Warford said she hopes the office will have 15 to 20 real estate agents within two years.

The office will cover all of Southern Indiana and parts of the Louisville area, including the East End and the Highlands, Warford said.

The owners said what brought them to RE/MAX was the brand's recognition, its ongoing education and its real estate tools.

They said the outlook for the housing market in Southern Indiana is strong.

"Right now we are extremely busy. The market is definitely feeling like it has made a comeback," Warford said.

Prather pointed to growth in Floyds Knobs and in the town of Sellersburg as two areas that are seeing a lot of development.

Despite getting multiple offers on homes, Prather said that it is not reflective of a lack of inventory. She said that as the weather has gotten warmer, more people - who were reluctant to do so during the past few months - are putting their homes on the market.

In the past three weeks, she said, there's been a surge in real estate activity.

RE/MAX of Indiana includes 73 offices with more than 1,200 sales associates, and an average of $2.7 billion in annual sales, according to the news release.
