Comfort Keepers Of The Fredericksburg Area To Be Sold

The Fredericksburg-area franchise of a company that provides in-home care for seniors and other adults will be sold June 1.

The Comfort Keepers franchise based at 419 Chatham Square Office Park in Stafford County will be sold to Sodexo, said Neda McGuire, who has owned the local franchise for the past 13 years.

Sodexo owns Comfort Keepers, but most of the individual locations are franchise-owned. McGuire said her franchise will be just the fourth that Sodexo will own.

McGuire said her franchise is doing well, but she is ready for a change. She determined that Sodexo was the best fit to buy the franchise.

She said her roughly 300 employees will need to fill out paperwork with Sodexo but are expected to keep their jobs and receive better health benefits. McGuire will work for Sodexo on a consulting basis after the sale closes.
