With a foothold in the state through its eight stores, Eagle Boys wants to ramp up the pressure and build a 20-strong state franchise by the end of next year.
Its headline price range gives it an edge but consumers need to be wary of the full picture.
Eagle Boys has a 12-inch Meatlover's pizza at a paltry $10.95 but you'll need to buy two to cover the $20 delivery threshold and then there's a $8 charge to bring it to your doorstep.
Meanwhile, the popular 12 inch Marcellina offering "The Lot" will set you back $21.80 but then the delivery threshold is lower at $20 as too is the delivery fee at $6.50.
Domino's has an economy of scale the other operators can't match with 520 stores across Australia and New Zealand and a claim to serve 700,000 pizzas weekly.
It's BBQ Meatlover's is priced at $19.95.
Delivery is free above a minimum $24 order threshold and "Cheap Tuesday" lowers the price on that night every week.
But it's in keeping up with the digital audience that Eagle Boys aims to blaze a trail.
"Industry figures show that 70 per cent of people are using the internet while they are watching TV," said Eagle Boys general manager (retail) Nick Vincent.
"It's people being time poor and making decisions later in the day.
"We are looking to provide these access points and make it easier for people to order food and give them control of the buying process.
"Thirty-six per cent of our sales are online and we want to double that in the next 12 months." Eagle Boys expect its planned 12 new stores to create more than 100 new jobs across South Australia.
