As any organization grows, it's inevitable that critical team members will transition out of the company to pursue other professional ventures. It's a simple hazard of growing really great people within The Glass Guru company culture. Our strong focus on continuous development of our staff also ensures that new opportunities can be embraced by existing staff vs. recruiting outside the company. The Glass Guru is in the midst of one such transition.
Several weeks ago, long time corporate staffer Derek Pearson announced that he would be leaving The Glass Guru in order to pursue a great opportunity outside the company. Friday, May 9th marked Derek's last day as acting Director of Franchise Operations. We would like to thank Derek for his dedication to serving the needs of our franchise network, and wish him the very best of luck in his new endeavor.
Effective immediately, we would like franchisees to join us at the corporate office in congratulating Sean Young, who has been appointed the new Director of Franchise Operations for The Glass Guru Franchise Systems, Inc.
First joining The Glass Guru corporate team in 2012 as an associate, Sean immediately brought his 20+ years of franchise experience to bear in driving new franchise sales. Contributing to the development and implementation of the Corporation's goals, Sean was quickly promoted to a key staff position of Director of Corporate Development, where he managed franchise sales, and oversaw corporate's marketing, social media, and PR initiatives. Assisting in developing and executing strategic franchise operations, Sean served in a variety of command assignments including franchise business forecasting, managing the pre-training process for new franchise owners, and he was instrumental in helping the company source a best-of-breed mapping software system.
Sean, in his new role as Director of Franchise Operations, will be responsible for coordinating the franchise training, assisting the grand opening process for new franchisees, and directly providing ongoing support to franchise owners in business operations, franchise vendor relations, and site operational analysis.
