Vernita managed several retail nutritional businesses for more than 10 years and was the human resources manager of the pharmacy she and Louis owned. She is a graduate of the Joseph School of Business and Entrepreneurship and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from Indiana Wesleyan University.
