Subway restaurant to open new franchise in Jackson's east side

Subway restaurants will soon crack into the double digits when it comes to Jackson area franchises.

Jackson's east side will get a new Subway this summer inside the BP Gas Station, 6010 Ann Arbor Road. This Subway has an expected open date of July 1, according to signage and a BP employee.

Construction is underway with a black curtain separating the gas station's sales floor from the work area.

The BP Station, across the street from McDonald's and off I-94 at the Sargent Road exit, will stay open during construction.

Applications are being accepted for the restaurant manager position, which can be picked up at the counter. A gas station employee said once the manager position is filled, that person will most likely start looking to fill the rest of the staff. Other Subway locations in Jackson include 1220 Parnall Road, 1502 Cooper St., 2575 Airport Road, 927 N. West Ave., 2013 E. Michigan Ave., 1604 W. Morrell St., 2044 S. Cooper St., 4000 Page Ave. and 1700 W. Michigan Ave. in Walmart.
