Nation's Leading Building Maintenance Management Company Presents Local Business Partners with Coveted "Franchise of the Year" Award

Franchisees, local market team members, and corporate leadership assembled at The Wild Horse Pass & Casino in Chandler, Arizona in March for City Wide's annual franchise convention and awards ceremony.

During the event, John Duffy and Steve Howerton, the co-principals of City Wide Maintenance of Tampa Bay, were awarded the prestigious "Franchise of the Year" award. "John and Steve had an incredible 2014, and we see that continuing for them in the years ahead," said Jeff Oddo, president and CEO of Kansas City-based City Wide Franchise. "The partners' strengths go beyond business; as friends, fathers, and mentors, these are two people we can all look up to. I am excited about supporting them as they continue growing their business throughout the Greater Tampa Bay area." The convention celebrated several key accomplishments and inspired all attendees to continue to aim high, think big, and rise to the occasion day in and day out. The four days included extensive sales, operations, and marketing training, educational seminars, roundtables, and opportunities to share best practices.

The most emotional portion of the gathering was the awards dinner. City Wide Franchise awarded top-performing City Wide franchisees and their team members honors for their sales, customer retention, and superior operations during 2014. "This has been a memorable year for both Steve and me," said Duffy. "We are proof that transitioning into entrepreneurship is not only possible, but offers opportunities and successes that go beyond what is possible for most corporate executives." City Wide Maintenance of Tampa Bay earned the "Franchise of the Year" award with a series of high marks in all criteria judged, including total revenue, revenue increase, operations, client retention, community involvement, and participation within the franchise system. The Tampa Bay team's performance also earned it the Million Dollar Club designation by growing revenue by at least $1 million from 2013 to 2014.

"This is a testament to the entire Tampa Bay team," said Howerton, who traveled to Phoenix for the convention with Duffy and several team members. "As long as we stay focused and pay attention to the details, we'll continue to hit our stride every year." City Wide has made a name for itself in major U.S. cities by streamlining commercial facilities and maintenance management of more than 20 services through a collection of service providers and alliance partners, including floor care, window washing, janitorial supplies, parking lot maintenance, and several others. Taking the onus off building owners and property management companies that typically have to choose separate companies for each task, City Wide eases the selection and management processes for its clients.
