Several new handcrafted recipes, created with crave-worthy fresh ingredients, bring the flavors of Provence to life at la Madeleine. Guests may choose from three new salades including the Chicken, Bacon & Bleu; Roasted Vegetable, Chicken & Goat Cheese or Cranberry Pecan Wild Field. Additionally, la Madeleine is featuring a variety of lemon patisseries made from scratch, including their namesake Lemon Madeleines, legendary Lemon Tarts and a limited-time Lemon Cream Cake.
"With our new Provence-inspired salades and patisseries, guests can experience the essence of the South of France, which is dotted with country cafes and large outdoor markets," said Susan Dederen, vice president of culinary for la Madeleine. "Perfect for springtime, these menu items highlight the best of fresh, seasonal ingredients. My personal favorite is the pesto roasted vegetable salade with goat cheese. The goat cheese adds a creamy tang paired with an array of vegetables at their peak, it is a wonderful combination." The three new salades celebrate the fresh ingredients found at Provencal country markets, including the flavorful Chicken, Bacon & Bleu made with crispy bacon and savory bleu cheese. The Roasted Vegetable, Chicken & Goat Cheese salade highlights fresh vegetables one would find at any market in France including pesto-roasted zucchini, red bell peppers, button mushrooms and a wonderful fresh goat cheese spread. The Cranberry & Pecan Wild Field salade perfectly balances sweet and savory flavors with dried cranberries and toasted pecans tossed in balsamic vinaigrette.
For dessert, la Madeleine is featuring variety of lemon cakes and pastries from its namesake Lemon Madeleine, made with real lemon peel and juice, to a moist Lemon Cream Cake. These light, sweet and delicious desserts are the perfect way to celebrate citrus season in the South of France, right in your own neighborhood. Guests can also try the Lemon White Chocolate Chunk Cookie or scrumptious Lemon Tarts.
"Highlighting seasonal ingredients and flavors from the Provence region of France is great example of how we are constantly working to maintain authenticity in our menu. We are constantly looking to our French roots for inspiration," said John Cahill, president of the Dallas-based brand. "We hope that our new Provence-inspired salades and patisseries are enjoyed by our guests, and maybe for a moment during their meal, they can feel a bit of the joie de vivre that is the essence of the South of France.
