The first shop in San Francisco located in the mid-market area opened up to rave reviews at its quick take-away spot 6 months ago. Voted by Thrillist as some of the best fries in San Francisco, the shop is one of the first businesses to open up in a now burgeoning section with projects and plans for Mid-Market Area.
The shop located at 1051 Market Street just had a special visit from Mayor Ed Lee, while enjoying a cone of the baked-not-fried signature wedges with the 3 Potato 4 Chipotle sauce, came to discuss the success and ideas for the up-and-coming block and the thoroughfare of the city.
Now, the outfit is pioneering the healthiest food you're going to find in Fisherman's Wharf, 3 Potato 4 has opened its second location in the Anchorage Square Shopping Center, next to the Cannery. Owner, PJ Blanchard said, "There was a line the first day we opened, mostly people employed here at the Wharf. They were thrilled to finally have something affordable, organic, gluten free and quick." Not only are the locals excited, but so are the many visitors getting on & off the City Sightseeing SF Bus Tours, which lands right outside of 3 Potato 4's door every 30 minutes. "Tourists from anywhere in the world recognize fries, and now they are enjoying them 99% Fat-Free. They like that we bake-instead-of-fry them." says staff member Liz.
The baked-fries outfit's eco-responsible and unique approach to the potato starts with organic potatoes. The healthy solution is so pervasive in everything they do that even the spoons, cups and lids for their soups and chili are made from potato starch and completely biodegradable.
