When Justin Tangeman started working as a driver for Two Men and a Truck in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 2008, he didn't plan to be there for long.
"I just thought it was going to be a temporary job while I looked for a career," he said.
However, it wasn't long before he started moving up in the company.
The story was much the same for Tyler Whalen, who started working at the Cedar Rapids company in 2010.
Fast forward a few years, and the pair found themselves not only making the moving business a career but becoming Two Men and a Truck franchise owners, buying the Omaha location in May 2015.
They later joined with some other investors to buy a Two Men and a Truck franchise in the Southwest.
Then last month, the pair added the Lincoln location to their portfolio.
They bought both Nebraska franchises from Eileen Marrison, who sold them a couple of years apart as part of a planned transition into retirement.
Marrison was one of the company's first franchisees, with the Lincoln location that opened in the early 1990s only the company's fourth-ever location.
The company that got its start in Lansing, Michigan, in 1985 now has more than 350 locations in 42 states and several countries.
