Hero Certified Burgers
2016 was a helluva year, no matter how you slice it.

Leicester City won the Premier League at 5000-1 odds, the Chicago Cubs won the World Series after an 108 year drought, we lost several stars of stage, screen and sound and Donald Trump became the President of the United States. Of course, much more happened than this but these were definitely the most headline grabbing, newsworthy stories of the year.

For us, 2016 was the year that we gained new stores, made a lot more friends and raised more money for charity. However, we did lose our long-time storefront at Honest Ed's, the famed Toronto landmark.

It has been our privilege to serve our customers for the past 14 years and we thank you for your loyalty and support. We'd also like to thank our landlords, the Mirvish family, for the trust and support they have always shown us and we wish them nothing but the best in the redevelopment of this historic site. It has been a sincere honour to have been part of the Mirvish Village history.

Having said goodbye to 2016, let's take a look forward to 2017 and create some possible new resolutions for the brand new year ahead.

Live A More Active Lifestyle - This is usually the number one on everyone's list that goes down the toilet by the first of February. It's easy enough to start an exercise and diet program, but the trick is to find a decent one that will give you steady results and will be easy to stick to in the long run. We're not advising to change your whole lifestyle or reframe your entire thought process, just get your blood flowing a few more times a week and make better food choices. For those living in Toronto, we now have a cycling and fitness studio available for you, if you feel like breaking a sweat after that 6oz HERO Signature Burger. If you're interested in joining the HERO Endurance Sport Studio, simply visit the website and SIGN UP!

#MeatlessMonday - This is difficult for us to say but having a veggie burger or salmon fillet sandwich once a week wouldn't hurt you. Chock full of protein and it tastes great too, going meatless on a Monday provides a great start to the new year. Don't worry, you won't have to give up your bacon cheeseburger pleasure, it's just a way of adding something else into your diet. We recommend trying our Spicy Soul Burger or our Wild Alaskan Salmon Supreme.

Do Good Deeds & Meet New People - When we get stuck in a rut, we usually end up staying at home most of the time, missing out on a lot of interesting opportunities for networking and having fun. Meeting new people can be beneficial to your mental well-being and help your career, so don't be afraid to get out there and make some friends. Overcome your shyness, get some knowledge and go and get to know new and interesting people. We highly recommend you join our Hunger Heroes Mission with Heroes in Black. Once a month, we feed and clothe the homeless and there is no better way to get out, meet new people and feel good.

Start Saving Money - Once you have your debt under control, it's time to start putting some money aside. A rainy day fund and some extra money that can go towards traveling abroad, fixing up the house or buying a new car are a welcome change of pace. If you're eating out at HERO, we recommend you sign up for our Deal of the Week the quickest and easiest way to save 10-40% off your next meal, every single week.
